This 5 day trek will take you to one of the most beautiful sunrise points, Lelana at 4985 m on Mount Kenya.

The beautiful, snow capped peak of Mount Kenya is the second highest point in Africa at 5199m. It is a challenging and popular destination for trekkers and climbers. The main summit is called Batian and the second summit Nelion (5188m), both of which are technical climbs.

On this trip, we will be trekking up to the third peak, Lenana, at 4985m, which is more accessible and a very feasible goal for fit people. It is a perennial favourite, entirely feasible for the hill walker looking for a high mountain adventure in Africa.

Safari Itinerary

Leave Nairobi for Naro Moru town for lunch. After lunch drive to the Youth Hostel for the rest of the day and night acclimatizing.

After breakfast leave the Youth Hostel and drive to the main gate start ascending the mountain through the rain forest for the ten kilometers to the met station for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast continue to ascend to mackinders camp for dinner and overnight.

Wake up very early in the morning around 2.30a m and attempt point Lenana via Austria n Hut to mackinders camp for breakfast and then descend down to Met Station for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, descend the last bit of Mount from the met station via Naro Moru main gate for a short drive to Naro Moru town to c atch your transport to Nairobi where the tour ends.
