Safari Overview

With many fascinating natural resources, rich culture and the most hospital people in the world, Uganda is the pearl of Africa! And indeed there is no better place to spend a holiday than here. This 7-day safari experience is a perfect opportunity to see the wondrous mountain gorillas and other famous animals in a variety of parks in Uganda.

On this safari experience, go on game drives and a boat cruise, go chimp tracking in the jungle and come face to face with wild gorillas on a trekking adventure. Experience the stunning scenery and views of the local communities. A flight from Entebbe to Kihihi will help cut the long driving time to Bwindi Gorilla Park, before a leisurely game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. A cruise on the Kazinga channel has a lot of birdlife and game to offer for your viewing pleasure.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1 :
Arrival

Arrive at Entebbe international airport, you will meet and greet with our representative who will then transfer you to your hotel.
Overnight at airport guest house.

Morning transfer to Entebbe international airport for a local small plane flight to Kihihi Airstrip. A representative from the lodge will be waiting for your arrival, meet and greet then transfer to the Bwindi gorilla park. Check in at your lodge, have lunch and relax at the lodge.
Overnight at Buhoma Camp

African Rift Valley. It is home to over 400 species of mountain gorillas, about half of the world’s population. The forest is also a home to over 350 species of birds and 400 flora species.

Gorilla trekking starts at 8am after a briefing at the park headquarters. Trek through the dense steep forest searching for the gorillas depending on where they were seen making nests the previous evening. The trekking can last 2-7 hours depending on how soon you find the gorillas, which is influenced the location they stayed overnight.

Morning breakfast and a relaxed drive northwards to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy a game drive searching for tree climbing lions and lunch en-route as you continue to Mweya sector of the park where you will spend an overnight.

Overnight at Baboon Safari Resort.

Morning game drives in the Kasenyi plains through to Katwe Kob mating grounds. Most of the animals you are likely to find here include impalas, sitatungas and lions when lucky enough.

Afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel will give you great views of several game including hippos, buffaloes, elephants and birdlife that queen Elizabeth National Park has to offer, off the boat cruise and continue with and evening game drive in the park before returning to your lodge.

Baboon Safari Resort.

Morning drive to the chimp-land with a stopover the crater lakes and hike to the top of the world, you will have lunch en-route before heading to Kibale Forest Park.

Afternoon visit to Bigodi swamp, this is a community project aimed at improving the livelihoods of the local people. A local guide will lead you on a developed 4.5km trail through the swamp for approximately 3 hours where you can find several bird species including the great blue turraccos, hornibils kingfishers and also black and white colobus, red colobus, red tailed monkey, grey cheeked mangabey, olive baboon, l’hoest monkeys and vervet monkeys.

Overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.

In the morning, embark on a chimpanzee tracking adventure. Tracking starts at 7 am with a briefing at Kanyanchu Park headquarters, where you will be allocated rangers to take you through the forest. Tracking can last for 2 to 4 hours depending on how far the chimps are.

Kibale forest has over 1,450 individuals (chimpanzees) protected within the park. At Kanyanchu, there is a community of chimpanzees that have been habituated since 1991, allowing visitors an outstanding opportunity to track these apes in their natural habitat.

On returning from chimp tracking, have lunch at the lodge before starting a gentle drive through tea plantations and beautiful sceneries with a lunch stopover en-route. Arrive in Entebbe late afternoon, in time to check-in for your flight back home or return to a hotel for further stay in the country.
